چکیده

Malaysia is one of the top eight countries that has a drawback mismanaged plastic waste. This study intended to investigate polymer degradation using biological technique with help microalgae minimise time required for biodegradation. research article aims identify collected sample most suitable biodegradation microplastic and analyse by microalgae. The results revealed consortium Chlorella sp. Cyanobacteria were able deteriorate low-density polyethene (LDPE sample) through several stages, this was confirmed UV-Spec, FESEM, EDX, CHNO, FTIR DSC analysis. obtained producing exopolysaccharides (EPS) decreased carbon oxygen ratio. According SEM micrographs, microalga may colonise, agglomerate, adhere microplastics its surface, regardless fractional size. EDX analysis showed initial composition 92.30 ± 1.23 %, while after incubation, started decreasing from 53.18 % 39.12 1.08 %. Finally, there 37.91 decrease in weight elemental analysise

Characterization of a Bioflocculant Produced by a Consortium of Halomonas sp. Okoh and Micrococcus sp. Leo

The physicochemical and flocculating properties of a bioflocculant produced by a bacterial consortium composed of Halomonas sp. Okoh and Micrococcus sp. Leo were investigated. The purified bioflocculant was cation and pH dependent, and optimally flocculated kaolin clay suspension at a dosage of 0.1 mg/mL. The flocculating activity of the bioflocculant was stimulated in the presence of Ca2+, Mn2...
